This position will be filled as an Analyst II, III, or Sr. depending on the level of qualifications.

 

JOB SUMMARY

This position will primarily focus on the research and analytical support of Business & Economic Development activities in total with emphasis on the ultimate location of new commercial and industrial prospects and customers. The Analyst serves as a key member of the Business & Economic Development team within the department devoted to providing a wealth of critical resources and information. The Analyst directly supports the Manager of New Business Development.

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide research and support for RFP/RFI responses and Lead Generation prospects.

  • Perform research, analysis, strategic and business intelligence on companies, industries, people, projects and customers.

  • Manage and support the group with appropriate research and data analysis related needs, requests, projects, demographics, business and economic data, target industries, lead generation, marketing programs and more.

  • Perform site searches and provide information on available buildings and sites across the Entergy service territory.

  • Oversight of Entergy Louisiana’s statewide sites and buildings database.

  • Support project managers with GIS-based mapping and analysis.

  • Maintain on-going GIS data for electrical infrastructure etc., generation of maps and other GIS work utilizing ArcGIS, GE and other applications as needed.

  • Prepare and maintain presentations for new proposals, rate estimates, customer and prospect meetings, reporting, charts/graphs to support the dept.

  • Management and reporting of project/prospect pipeline in a CRM program.

  • Maintain/Improve Business & Economic Development reporting, perform other extensive reporting and tracking as needed.

  • Management of growth measurements and sales reports.

  • Support the development of departmental business plan(s).

  • Recognizes data inconsistencies and irregularities and reports issues.

  • Act as support for the dept’s Shared Directory and SharePoint site.

  • Produce various Presentations/Slides and Reports.

  • Marketing/PR/Communications experience, i.e., website content, coordinating announcements with the Communications group, analyzing target markets and audiences, maintaining collateral and promotional materials etc.

  • Project management, strategic planning and implementation skills.

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business or technical related field required or equivalent work experience will be accepted. MBA is preferred.

  • 2 year technology or Bachelor’s degree in GIS, geography, geosciences, computer science or related field (or equivalent work experience) is highly prefered.

  • Desired: Prior economic development industry experience/exposure is a plus.

 

Experience:

  • Analyst II 2-4 years of related professional experience.

  • Analyst III 4-6 years of related professional experience.

  • Analyst Sr: 6+ years of related professional experience.

 

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:

  • Demonstrate a strong level of quantitative skills and comprehensive knowledge of working with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Esri ArcGIS mapping/analysis and data management, Google Earth, and CRM software (SalesForce) and other business intelligence and analytical tools is highly desirable.

  • Experience using ESRI ArcGIS, possess skills, knowledge and be proficient in GIS. Have understanding of Coordinate Systems and geography.

  • Excellent Reporting, Analytical and research skills, strong analytical skills, i.e. economic data, industry and competitive analysis etc.

  • Technical knowledge, i.e., computer hardware/software, database, web site development and use.

  • Excellent writing skills (plans, reports, presentations, proposals).

  • Ability to interface with all levels of management and various external organizations, state/regional/local organizations and allies.

  • Strong ability to communicate and interact with a wide-range of people, orally and in writing.

  • Excellent leadership skills.

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Familiarity with electricity utilities a plus but not required.

  • Self-motivated; ability to be a team leader on projects.

  • Strong Team player/oriented.

  • Positive, proactive mindset with a strong results orientation.

  • Ability to handle heavy workload, multiple tasks and prioritize; flexibility needed.
