LIDEA membership is drawn from state and local economic development agencies (EDO'S), chambers of commerce, utility companies, railroads, banks, ports, business consultants, engineering firms, real estate development groups, and similar organizations.

New members must be recommended in writing by at least two (2) active LIDEA members. All applications must be reviewed by the Membership Committee and approved by the Board of Directors. The result is an organization of highly qualified practitioners with complementary backgrounds and a united purpose.
