Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service
The LA Cooperative Extension holds a one-week seminar to increase the skills of community and economic development volunteer leaders by providing tools and models. Entergy Annual Team City Conference
The utility hosts an annual conference for the Team City members including business sessions on various economic and community development topics, community exhibits and awards presentation. National Programs
Economic Development Institute
EDI, founded in 1962, offers a three-year accredited program for economic developers looking for a comprehensive course in economic development to begin and/or further their knowledge. This program is held each year at the University of Oklahoma, at Indiana University Purdue University-Indianapolis and the Town & Country Center in San Diego, CA. In addition, nineteen universities around the country hold a one-week course providing an introduction to the theory and fundamentals of economic development. Community Development Institute
CDI was created in 1987 to train community officials, advocates and activists in the techniques and nuances of modern leadership and management of community development efforts.
