Award Programs

Volunteer of the Year Award Program
General Information

The Louisiana Industrial Development Executives Association (LIDEA) presents its Volunteer of the Year Award annually.
Eligibility

Only volunteer industrial/community developers can receive the award. Professional industrial/community developers are ineligible. A professional is any person whose employment duties include industrial/community development responsibilities.


Ineligible:
  • LIDEA Members
  • Paid Chamber of Commerce Employees
  • Utility/Railroad Area Developers
  • Public Elected Officials
  • Financial Institution Employees with assigned area development duties
Selection

LIDEA Volunteer of the Year Award Committee selects the winner of the award from nominations received from LIDEA members. An individual can win the award only once.
Nominating Instructions

1. Send three (3) copies of nomination and supporting documentation to:

2. Closing date for submitting nominations is the first week in July.

3. Nominations must cover projects and activities between January 1st and December 31st.

4. Nominations should provide the following:

  • Include name and description of the project(s) that Nominee assisted in locating or expanding during the calendar year, and the specific nature of effort exerted personally by Nominee to locate the facility or facilities.
  • The nominating data should be factual, pertinent, and as brief and concise as possible while fairly describing the volunteer industrial development work of Nominee.
  • Include a description of any obstacles that were significant in terms of locating the facility or facilities.
  • Include a one-page resume' of Nominee's industrial development activities on behalf of his or her community along with the position held.
Presentation

Volunteer of the Year Award winner will be recognized at the LIDEA Annual Meeting. This individual will also represent Louisiana at the Southern Economic Development Council (SEDC) "Volunteer of the Year" program.
